Sparmax Inspire Tc620X model

Sparmax Inspire Tc620X
Sparmax Inspire Tc620X

In the Inspire series of compressors the leading one would be the TC-620X model. This model has enhanced portability and it is easy to store because of its lightweight metal housing. Its two air outlets and an accompanying air tank, it enables users to manage their workspace with greater flexibility and efficiency. The extra air outlet gives you the option to connect airbrushes beforehand and switch between uses of airbrushes. Through it flows clean and stable air, in total control of the user. The model has auto on/off function of 40 psi/60 psi and a 2.5 liter air tank with gauge. The price of Sparmax TC620X is higher than Master models, but worth the money.

What’s in the box?

Unpacking the box within a box reveals a nicely finished black steel casing, containing the pressure tank at the bottom and the compressor motor at the top. The on/off switch is at the back, with the other controls placed at the front and the main control is the pressure regulator on top. Pull it out and turn clockwise to increase pressure or anticlockwise to decrease. The dial alongside will tell you the settings, and you just push the regulator back in to lock it. Another pressure gauge is found on the tank to display what pressure it has and you are supplied with 2 air hoses of 3 meters length.

Experience (Alec S.)

The main reason why I bought this model was that it has an air tank. So rather than just an electric motor directly pumping air to your airbrush, this one pumps it into a pressure tank. The difference is that it supplies a smooth, pulse and moisture free stream of air. Another benefit is that it enables fine control of the actual pressure setting, and gives an extremely consistent flow of air.

Another great thing is that it has 2 air outlets which enables you to run a pair of airbrushes at the same time, and how cool is that?! The motor has the ability to switch on periodically to maintain the pressure as you draw off air.

The motor is a little noisier but the thing that is noticeable right away is the smoothness and the consistency of the airflow. This is precisely the thing that makes me look forward to all the other painting jobs.

My Experience (2019 update)

This a bit expensive airbrush compressor and my old friend Jeremy Banks really struggled whether to buy it or not. But this company has been around for decades and he hasn’t found any bad user reviews of it. He has been a faithful Sparmax user for three years now, and from his experience the word the best describes this product is DURABILTY.

To explain the durability, I will just say that he has used this compressor in winter when the temperatures are freezing and in summer when they are extremely hot. It ran exactly the same, without a single flaw or trouble with starting. This is something that amazed even me. It sometimes runs on a battery bank and provides 40 hours of constant service. Believe it or not, this isn’t the only thing that amazed me.

The second one is the fact that it goes from 0 to full tank in 13 seconds! With these features, this is the armored tank in the airbrushing world.

BOOKMARK THIS REVIEW FOR LATER

The unit is metal made and comes with an air tank. For the price, it would be idiotic not to give an air tank. It gives a smooth, moisture free air stream, which really has its charms. The two air outlets are also a nice touch as well as the regulator. He has a Paasche airbrush, but just bought an adapter and it fits perfectly with the compressor. I can compare its noise to the noise that a mini fridge makes. Well, that’s quiet enough, wouldn’t you agree?

He really can’t say enough good things about this airbrush compressor. In a another life time, he would buy it all over again. With this product you buy durability, silence and high-quality. And that’s a match made in Heaven. If you have the money, don’t think twice, it definitely worth it.

Final thoughts

When buying an airbrush compressor you should pay attention to quality and buy the best one for the money you have. This unit has high performance and a perfection in air supply. It gives you an opportunity to work with two airbrushes simultaneously. Oil-less compressor is extremely versatile and stylish. The bad sides could be the price, which is a bit high, and a little bit more noise which it produces. But all in all, totally worth it!
