I know some people that use this model as their one and only primary compressor for every possible application. They saved up the money and bought it, without any hesitation. I didn’t get why would they pay so much for a compressor. Then, I got a chance to use this unit on a job site for two months. Now, I can say that I fully understand.
This Silentaire model is really something. The noisy Italians have managed to make something so quiet. Not knowing the features of the model, I measured the noise level which was at around 40 decibels. To give you the full impression, that’s like the noise your computer makes when turned on. So, a slight humming that you don’t even notice. This is the first thing that amazed me. I worked in peace and quiet for two whole months. The job was demanding and long, around 9 – 11 hours of work a day, but this beauty took it like a champ!

There were no air leaks. And I checked regularly. The unit didn’t overheat not once. I think this is due to the safety valve. But then again, the motor is cast iron made, which helps the heat to spread evenly. The compressor runs long and shuts off occasionally. It doesn’t walk around the room while on and it is easy to transport. It was a bit strange to use it at first, since I am not used to using fully automatic compressors. After few hours, I couldn’t imagine working with any other kind than this.
This is model is something really special. Fully automatic, with a large tank and everything that makes a compressor your essential tool. I couldn’t describe how powerful and silent it is, you have to see it for yourself. I highly recommended it!
I would have bought for myself but unfortunately my budget is a bit low at the moment. But, the first chance I get, this baby is mine!
