My Experience (2019 update)
My old compressor died, so after a touching funeral I realized I needed a new one. After a long decision-making process, I decided to buy this Paasche package. It had everything I needed at that time for a fairly reasonable price. This happened four years ago and the unit is still a part of my life. Here’s what I have to say about it:
The compressor didn’t fail me at all over the years and this says a lot about the high quality of this piece of equipment. The only thing that happened once, that got me worried, was one time after a few hours of usage it just stopped producing pressure. I got scared and thought this is the end. However, I took it apart and saw that the motor and the compressor piston are disconnected. Luckily, this was resolved by screwing it back on. Honestly, this scared me, but it never happened again. A rather stupid manufacturing error.
I can say this compressor is made for professionals but it could also be used by total beginners. I know this, because my girlfriend tried it and she has zero airbrushing experience. She managed pretty easily and enjoyed airbrushing. I bought her a new one for Christmas, since she wants to become an airbrush makeup artist. A nice touch was the pressure regulator which couldn’t be found in some compressors and the built-in auto on/off.
It has a pressure delivery span between 20 to 30 PSI depending on a head being used. I use it at around 24 PSI and I had no issues.
As far as the noise goes, the unit is still
fairly quiet, I can compare it to the sound my fridge makes.
Paasche gave me a reliable product and that’s why I can’t say anything bad about it. It’s well made, easy to use and won’t let you down. Highly recommended!
