What’s in the Box
The Paasche D3000R comes with basically everything you need to start airbrushing right from the box: a one-gallon tank, a pressure regulator, and a moisture trap.
The Paasche D3000R airbrush compressor is equipped with everything needed for a better spraying consistency. This refers to the pressure regulator, moisture trap and a mounted one-gallon storage tank. Additionally, it has an automatic shut off and is an oil less unit, which makes it virtually maintenance free. The best part is, of course, the mounted storage tank that ensures a constant airflow. Thanks to it, the motor does not need to run all the time. The noise level is estimated at 47 decibels, which is completely suitable for anyone who likes to work in silence. The compressor can run up to 40 PSI and then it shuts off until more air pressure is needed. Built-in pressure regulator helps you adjust the pressure you require during the spraying and depending on the airbrush used it can provide up to 35 PSI. Another important feature is the moisture trap that makes sure you have no moisture in the spray stream during a long session. The entire unit measures 13 inches by 6 inches by 13 inches, and weighs only 11 pounds, providing an easy to use unit that requires very little space.

My Experience (sept. 2019)
There’s a lot of fuss about this product, so I decided to see what’s so special about it. I called my friend Jerry and asked if he could borrow the compressor to me. I wanted to use it intensively and report back my findings to you. Jerry had no problem with that. This compressor doesn’t take walk around your working environment, so for me that’s a big plus. It has an auto on/off and turns on at 43 PSI and turns off at 57 PSI. I think this is a great and reasonable setting. At first, I had a problem with adjusting the regulator, but I didn’t panic, I was afraid to call Jerry so I just called the customer service which was more than helpful and resolved the issue in a minute.
The provided moisture trap prevents the moisture to build up and it is something that most of us airbrush artists appreciate. I sometimes used it for more than 10 hours straight and I have to say that the compressor took it like a champ! The motor got a little warmer but I couldn’t expect for it to remain cool. Next time, I just turned on a cooling fan so that I didn’t overheat the unit and everything went just fine.
You ask about the noise? What noise?
The unit is quiet from the moment it kicks on. The advertised noise level is 47db., but I would say it’s around 50db. which isn’t such a big deal. I can compare it to a cat purring, which is more than family friendly.
Paasche offers products that are constantly good. This is the case with this one as well. I must admit that I know some people that are louder than this compressor. It’s easy to use, does the job and is a good value for the price.
