The dimensions of the compressor are 16.2 x 13 x 16.2 inches and it weighs 34 pounds (15.4 kilograms) which is somewhat considered to be light weight.
It features a 0.6 HP motor that operates at only 1680 RPM and creates less noise and less wear. It is considered to be one of the silent compressors as it produces 56 decibels of sound. A nice addition are the thermal overload protector and the external current protector. So, overheating isn’t an option here. While working the unit gets just a bit warm and that’s it. It doesn’t get hot, which is a big plus. The maximum pressure it can give is 120 PSI, and the recovery time from 90 to 120 PSI is only 15 seconds! Amazing, right?! Also, I need to mention that the tank fills up from zero to full in 50 seconds. This is great time for a tank this size. In case you’re curious the warranty is one year and the compressor is ETL Certified.

A few months back, my friend Tom called me and asked if I want to do this huge airbrushing job with him. The money was great, so of course I said yes. Upon arrival I could see that we are supposed to work with this California Air Tools compressor. I haven’t used it before and its operation wasn’t familiar. But, after a few minutes of use, I can say I made a new friend.
The compressor is ruggedly made and can work under low temperatures as well.
The one-gallon tank fills up quickly while the air release valve is placed right up front. In my opinion, this is the perfect place for the valve as it is easily reachable unlike that placed underneath with an annoying screw.
The actual power draw that I measured with a kill-a-watt meter out of curiosity is between 380-400 watts when running.
As for the filling up, it takes around 47 seconds to fill from zero to full, which is great for this type of compressor.
Personally, I might consider getting a bigger tank, but that’s just me. Also, it’s a bit heavy, but not that much. If you go to the gym every other day, this is nothing for you.

I put the air filter in, not knowing it acts as a substantial muffler. The unit was already quiet but this made it even more silent and I was amazing. Doing this job was a real pleasure since Tom and I talked and spent quality time together while making money at the same time. We didn’t need to raise our voice not once!
After using it for a month I can say that this is a quiet compressor, made for indoor and outdoor use. One of the good ones and it’s also cheap!
